About us What we do Giving every animal a second chance At RSPCA Doncaster& Rotherham everything we do is driven by one simple belief: every animal deserves respect and compassion. We’re proud to be part of the RSPCA family, but we’re also a separately registered charity. That means we raise over 95% of our own funds locally to keep our doors open. While the National RSPCA is responsible for rescuing animals from cruelty and neglect, our role begins when those animals arrive at our centre. From there, it’s our job to provide the rehabilitation and love they need to recover and find their forever home. Rescue, rehabilitate, rehome Every year, up to 1,000 animals come through our gates: dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, and even small furries like mice and hamsters. Many arrive frightened, injured, or traumatised after suffering cruelty or neglect. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to: Support animals’ emotional recovery, helping them rebuild trust. Provide veterinary treatment and daily care. Prepare them for adoption or release back into the wild. We have space for dogs, cats, rabbits and birds, as well as room for a wide variety of smaller animals. From the moment an animal arrives, our goal is the same: to give them a second chance at a safe, happy life. We raise funds to support our efforts through tireless fundraising. Our network of charity shops across Doncaster and Rotherham, plus our online stores (eBay, Vinted and Depop), are the lifeblood of our branch. They generate vital funds while giving supporters easy, feel-good ways to help. We also have a pet supplier shop located at our Animal Centre in Bawtry, stocking everything from food and bedding to toys and treats. Every purchase directly supports the animals in our care. As well as supporting animals in need we also have a range of other services available to support the wider community of pet owners through our services such as: Microchipping – helping keep pets safe and returned home quickly. Secure paddock & compound hire – safe spaces for dogs to run, train, and play. Because animals can’t speak for themselves, we will. We dream of a world where all animals are respected, protected, and loved and we’re working every day in Doncaster & Rotherham to make that vision a reality.
