What is a Suitably Qualified Person?

A Suitably Qualified Person can advise, prescribe and supply specialised veterinary medications for parasite management, such as de-wormers and flea/tick treatments, while ensuring their safe and correct usage. Our SQP’s are trained, qualified and registered by Vetpol and are supervised by the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD).

What types of products can SQPs supply?

• POM-VPS: Prescription-only medicines (but not requiring a vet to prescribe).
• NFA-VPS: Non-food animal medicines like spot-ons, wormers, etc.
• AVM-GSL: General sale animal medicines.
