We want to introduce Miss Katie to everyone…Katie came to the centre as a heavily pregnant stray, who was sent into a foster home to give birth. Not too long after, she gave birth to 3 kittens. After her kittens were weaned, Katie was then brought back to the centre. However, it was noted in a foster home that Katie’s stool was not right. This can be typical for mummy cats when their kittens are weaning, so we continued to monitor her whilst she was with us. However, after some time, it was apparent that it wasn’t this. So, we consulted our vets to see what options there were. We have trialled her on different foods, tested her stools, and nothing became apparent. Our vets advised steroids, some treatment called cobalaplex, and a hypoallergenic diet. Now, this has done wonders for Katie; whenever we try to wean Katie off of these, she can revert back. So, we were looking to place Katie in a foster-to-adopt home, where she will have a nice, stress-free environment, to limit the factors that might have been making her poorly. Do you think that could be you? Well, let me tell you a little bit more about Katie’s personality. She is such a friendly girl, and loves to be the centre of attention. When she first arrived, she wasn’t a huge fan of the other cats, but with some right socialisation, she loves to greet the others now. You will often find Katie watching the birdies out of her window and sunbathing. We wouldn’t have any issues with living with children, as long as they can give her space to settle.
